Performance, at Nanhai Gallery was created for the 'I am Beautiful Facetival,' curated by Yingchuan Wei and produced by the Shakepeare's Wild Sisters' Group in 2012. This is a performance festival that explores the phenomena of Facebook and other social media, featuring performances conceived by six artists of this generation.

Performance... is a web streaming improvised musical concert that challenges the limits of textual communication. Two brilliant musicans - Snow Huang on erhu and Zheng Gejun (Sonic Deadhorse) on electric guitar - stream their performances from their respective homes, and try to jam with each other, but they cannot hear each other's music at all. All communication would rely on the Mediator. The Mediator (which is me) would be at Nanhai Gallery, surrounded by the audience, and would attempt to communicate, via a Facebook group chat, the musical direction to be taken. The Mediator would attempt to relay what each musician is playing, and do his best to communicate, with words alone, the possibilities this jam session could develop into.

Three projection screens are presented to the audience: the live streaming of the two musicians, and the Facebook chat. They listen to the not-so-spot-on music while pondering the effectiveness of words.
