I am a musician and theatre sound designer based in Taipei, Taiwan. Although classically trained as a child, I developed an interest in theatre and alternative music in my teenage years. After studying directing at National Taiwan University Theatre and Drama Department, I went on to form the indie bands Bluevelvets and Fabric Factory, whilst composing and designing a variety of work for theatre and film. As my aesthetic perceptions expanded, I also started creating a number of interdisciplinary works which explore the interaction between music and live theatre.
It is at this point where I split into many parts. On one hand I still enjoy creating conventional rock/electronic music for various projects or for my own pleasure. On the other hand, I find creative expression through my interdisciplinary pieces, which are performance events or installations that explore the possibilities of organic interplay between music and theatrical performance, mostly focusing on the expression of space and atmosphere in the aural realm, manifested through elements of repetition, ambience, and aleatory.

Thus there are three aspects of me.

I am a craftsman, who will analyse your needs and create fitting music or sound design to suit your project, may it be film, theatre, commercial, or other media.

I am an artist, who enjoys experimenting with ambience and sound, and seeks to create environments or performances in which sonic expression interacts with specific venues.

And finally I am a musician, who grew up through the 80s and 90s and is still a big fan of dark and romantic melodies with rock guitars and synths, cliche or not, take it or leave it.

And in everything I do, I am constantly struggling to balance these forces pulling me in different directions. This is where I'm coming from, and I hope this makes for a sufficient self-introduction.
